One week and counting

I think that it really hits you that you are getting married when you are exactly one week away. I'm not really sure why, but that's just the case for me.
Today was a beautiful day. I will have to say that when I woke up this morning I had a sense of sorrow come over me. It was the first day that it wasn't a mix of stress and deep sadness.
I mentioned this to Brett and we began our day as any other day, both knowing that it would not be like any other day.
Today was a beautiful service and we all said goodbye to a beautiful soul. I have never witnessed the amount of love that was shown and all of the laughter that was heard as stories were told.
As I mentioned to Brett, we should all be so lucky to have so many people love us that they run out of seats when our time has come. We should all be so debonair.
As this week passes and we get all of our ducks lined up and ready for the ceremony I will say that having the past year to plan has been a great blessing and I would recommend it to any bride to be. I have been able to really take the time to enjoy the little things and have time to make the long nights memorable, often by dancing with Brett to the song of our first dance over and over until our feet are sore. Sharing in the small things is what makes life so great, whether it's having dinner on the patio with your new family or just simply holding hands while you watch T.V. These times make memories.
Until tomorrow ...
